Practical Sith Code

There are many codes in life, and each individual finds one, or makes up his own that he follows. What is a code? It is simply a guideline (or group of guidelines) one adheres to at the start of any path. It is not and should not be solid but fluid, an once one progresses past a certain point of understanding codes of an kind should be discarded. One should decide what one does according to what oneself thinks is best without consulting any code, but simply choosing and acting purely out of oneself. If one truly knows themselves such notions of codes become superfluous, and only become abstracts. A dark student should reach a point where one chooses and acts not in accordance with what this or that code dictates, but purely our of there own will.

This does not mean that your will is not in accordance with some code, and action you were to do be it good or bad would adhere to some code or another I’m sure. For some time I was a Sith realist, and for the first 3 years of my life on this path I tried in every way to adhere to the Sith code (in a purely practical manner). However the conundrum I had was that I also acted within the realm of the Jedi code, and the 10 commandments, Bushido, etc. The more I studied various codes and acts of conduct I found there wasn’t one I didn’t adhere to in one point or another as I made choices purely out of my will and not this or that arbitrary code. Nor was I anymore concerned about following codes but making choices out of purely my will. The fact that my actions fit into this or that code has become irrelevant, I no longer concern myself with following abstracts, I make choices that effect actions, and deal with the repercussions for good or ill. In the end you only have yourself to blame for who you are and what you do.

That being said I also believe the Sith code has relevant, practical, everyday teachings that one can apply to his or her life. I used to write long drawn out paragraphs on each one, however as my understanding refined I became less concerned that I must adhere to a “Dark” code to be considered Dark. Considered dark by whom, and what reason should I care if others view me as Dark, Light, or Shadow. These labels only mean something if you want them to, and the fact that society, even online societies may try to stick this or that label to you, or to stereotype you… know only you effect the course of who you are, and what you will be. You control what you wish to become, no one else. That being said I will provide my understanding of the Sith code as a practical tool, for everyday use.

Lol, I myself do not follow nor place any importance in the Sith code any longer…. or any code for that matter. I do that I WiLL. I have become very close to the Khaos I have named myself after, lines have become blurred, amorphous, without border, and I am not altogether there any longer…

Once you lose your mind, you come to your senses.

Peace is a lie, there is only passion.

This is not exactly true, peace isnt a lie. At least not on the scale of the inividual, peace however even in that sphere is only temporary. Peace on a grand scale? On a wordly scale, though is a lie, or to be more accurate a dream. It is not possible, and therefore has no meaning to a Sith, as he only tries to effect that which he or she can “control” in the sphere of there influence. In this more personal setting a Sith can have temporary peace, and effect temporary peace in his or her friends, jobs and loved ones. Simply by realisticly realizing that peace is fleeting (but worth pursuing) a Sith does not become involved in uneeded attachments and wasted emotions on those things that cannot be changed, things outside the sphere of influence.

There is only passion, this however is true. Human beings that have no passion, have no drive. If they have no passion they have no goals. A life without passion is a life without love, a life without substance. A Sith should live life, with burning passion to expieriece all there is. A life without attachments is a wasted one. We are here to make bonds with people, places, things. Passion is far from evil, or Dark for that matter. One can have a passion to protect, so they pick a field that leas them in that direction, you may have a passion for world peace, which although I believe is a dream, I also stated it is worth pursuing. You may have passion to be a Jedi, or Sith, or Shadow, an you will pursue that. A human life is never free from passion, from desire, it is in constant flux, struggle, pain, love, sorrow, joy victories and defeats, with brief fleeting moments of peace, all of it worth the fight, worth the passion. As with all things, a Sith tempers his or her passion with an indomitable will. We are not slaves to that which fuels we use it constructively to better ourselves, and thereby our surroundings.

“If one does not attach himself to people and desires, never shall his heart be broken. But then, does he ever truly live? I would rather die a mortal, who has a care for someone, than a man free from his own death.”~Jackie Chan Forbidden Kingdom

Through passion I gain strength.

With my passion to learn, to live, to expierience, I gain strength. Life is not an easy ride, and it isnt meant to be,most know this and except it. Life continualy finds ways to knock us down, and yet through our passion to continue on even in the face of pain, sorrow, and tragedy we find true strength in our enduring passion. To live, to love, to expierience, each negative emotion has a positive flipside, to know one is to have expierienced the other and a Sith finds strength in the passions, and the emotions he has expierienced, feeding off of them, positive or negative. He has forged hm or herself and persevered, even through lifes trials and tribulations. One who remains passionate remaims open to what life offers.

“People are afraid of themselves, of their own reality; their feelings most of all. People talk about how great love is, but that’s bullshit. Love hurts. Feelings are disturbing. People are taught that pain is evil and dangerous. How can they deal with love if they’re afraid to feel? Pain is meant to wake us up. People try to hide their pain. But they’re wrong. Pain is something to carry, like a radio. You feel your strength in the experience of pain. It’s all in how you carry it. That’s what matters. Pain is a feeling. Your feelings are a part of you. Your own reality. If you feel ashamed of them, and hide them, you’re letting society destroy your reality. You should stand up for your right to feel your pain.”~Jim, from interview 1969

Through strength I gain power.

Through finding ones strengths through the paths of passion and emotion, a Sith begins to forge a solid understanding and sense of self. The realization that the only power one truly has is the choices and actions one takes in ones life and the responsibility to act in accordance with ones will and not outside influence. The Power I speak of is the power of self, of becoming aware of ones inner darkness and having confronted it and made it a useful, practical tool. A strength on which to draw from instead of locking it out, or pretending it doesn’t exist. The realization that one cannot begin to help others until one has “mastered” themselves. A Sith realizes that limits only exist in the mind, a Sith becomes capable of anything because a Sith is only limited by choice, which is to say a Sith has no limits. A Sith comes through the steps of Knowlege is power (knowledge of the self and then the world around them) power is choice, and choice is limitless.

“The only rules that really matter are these: what a man can do and what a man can’t do. For instance, you can accept that your father was a pirate and a good man or you can’t. But pirate is in your blood, boy, so you’ll have to square with that some day. And me, for example, I can let you drown, but I can’t bring this ship into Tortuga all by me onesies, savvy? So, can you sail under the command of a pirate, or can you not?”~Captain Jack Sparrow

Through power I gain victory.

Power over onself leads to victory. To be fully aware of oneself, to have mastered the use of passion and emotion to the benefit of oneself and others. To be fully responsible and deliberate in ones actions. To know the power of choice and there resulting actions, this is all a victory. A Sith has gained victory becoming one with his inner darkness making his weaknessess his strengths, his fears, usefull movivators, and his anger a drive for his passions. He is usefull to others because he knows himself, he has become more than light and dark, beyond good and evil. Without borders, definition, explanation, or limitation.

This state of progress is distinctly related to lessons inspired by my reading of Nietzsche’s Thus Spoke Zarathustra in which he manifests his concept of the over human. Which should be read by anyone treading the Dark path.

Through victory my chains are broken.

Victory leads a Sith to throwing off many of the chains either life or yes even the individual has heaped upon oneself. Breaking chains is overcoming that which seeks to shackle you, or limit you in any way, be it spiritual, mental, or physical. Breaking chains is an ever continuing process, for there is an infinite amount of chains or limits to be broken in ones life. Some are placed in your way, some you create yourself. There is a being we truly wish to be, the ideal of our psyche, we as Sith choose a name for this being, these names are our true selves. In breaking the chains that life place on you a Sith comes closer to realization, to the true being, the ideal, the overhuman, the higher self,or personal perfection. The crux of this is that perfection will always be out of ones grasp, a Sith should never be satisfied with their level of progress, or content with there situation. There passion should always burn fiercely, there emotions adding focus and drive to continue to change, create, and evolve into the being they wish to be. A Sith should have an insatiable hunger for knowledge, an unrelenting drive to improve oneself, and ruthlessly seek to reach there goals. There is know beginning or end to the path there is only walking the path. Stagnation on the path leads to death, if not the body than of the spirit.

Only the supremely wise or ignorant do not alter.

The Force shall free me….

This is where I leave you, for this answer comes from an individuals accumulated expieriences, practices, lessons, choices, and actions one has taken on there path. My answer will not be your answer, nor should it be. We all come to our relative “Truths” in life and I will not infringe upon yours with mine. What I think is irrelevent anyway, as irrelevent as anything else, all answers fall short of the truth. If you’ve reached this far and still have a truth, smack yourself and start a the beginning again
